Very Disappointed So Far

Bought 4, my wife and I have eaten two of them. For 50 bucks I am disappointed. I just had a much better one at Outback a couple weeks ago. My first exposure to dry aged beef was several years ago when my son bought a four pack from a midwest competitor. They were unbelievable. Upon thawing and preparing to cook, I detected what I myself called a strong "nutty" aroma to them. Only later, after studying dry aged beef was that "nutty" aroma associated with dry aged beef.

I've bought a few since, one set even from the same and my son's and now these and none have measured up to my first experience. Makes me wonder, are these really dry aged steaks? These steaks didn't have much of a nutty aroma if any.

Perhaps I didn't cook them correctly, my charcoal grill wasn't as hot as I thought it was when I threw them on, so I'll hold back just a bit till I try my last two. I did finish up with "medium steaks", certainly not overcooked. I did use Nebraska's signature "Salt and Pepper" seasoning that I do love!

The outer ring as with almost any ribeye was excellent, still the taste was disappointing, OK but not great. The middle, though very well marbled ..........wasn't tough, but was wasn't cut-with-a-fork tender as my very first dry aged prime ribeyes I mention above were.

Occasionally, I look at Walmart and every now and then some ribeyes slip through as "choice", but the marbling indicating they must have barely missing "prime" if that and to be honest, they're better than these Nebraska dry aged steaks. Sixteen dollar steaks beats the fifty bucks ones.

If after trying my last two, If change my mind, I'll update this comment.

Their Beef never disappoints

I have gotten a variety of beef from this team. The Prestige Prime Ribeye just never fails to please us for the price point. Right now we are here to stay. I would say my stomach was challenged by their 24oz. Challenge accepted and defeated. What ya got now Nebraska, bring it on.

Awesome steak

These may very well be the best Riy Eyes I have eaten. We also buy our hamburger here, and intend to expand to the rest of their menu, as long as they continue the quality of meat we will buy here exclusively, if the quality changes after the 1st order, we will discontinue our orders.
